STAGES OF WALKING IN A CHILD
THE STAGES A CHILD GOES THROUGH TO WALK
Children go through several stages as they learn to walk. These stages include:
- Tummy time: Babies start to develop their neck muscles and upper body strength by lifting their head and shoulders off the ground while lying on their stomach.
- Sitting up: Once babies can support their own head, they learn to sit up with support and eventually sit up on their own.
- Crawling: Babies start to crawl on their hands and knees, which helps them build strength in their legs and core.
- Pulling up: Babies learn to pull themselves up to a standing position by holding onto furniture or other objects.
- Cruising: Once they can stand up, babies start to "cruise" around by holding onto furniture and taking steps while holding onto a support.
- Walking: After they have mastered cruising, babies learn to take independent steps and walk on their own.
It's important to note that every child develops at their own pace, so it's normal for some children to skip stages or take longer to progress through them.
